Life through the Lens!

Hi, my name is Richard or Rick Graham. I’m so glad you have taken the time to drop by my photography website. I’ve been an avid photographer for many years. Most of my photographs are safely tucked away on my computer hard drive but recently I’ve been persuaded by enough family and friends to share some of my favourites with anyone who would like to see them.

Over the years, people have asked me why I enjoy photography as much as I do. My response is the same every time. When I stop to look at life through my camera lens, I see it as an opportunity to capture a moment in time and space that I see as unique and wonderful. When a shot is framed, captured and shared on my website; I genuinely hope it will brighten someone’s day!

My first memories of experiencing the thrill of life through a lens started as a teenager back home in Northern Ireland.  A  family friend showed me a photo album of shots he’d taken at the North West 200 motorcycle race (a race held every year near the seaside town of Portrush on the north coast of Northern Ireland). The images of superbikes travelling at close to 200 MPH, with razor-sharp detail of the bike against the blurred background had me completely mesmerized. A few weeks later the same family friend gave me a well-used Minolta 35mm film camera and my love for photography began.

Travelling Light

From the shores of Ireland where I grew up to the majestic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada where I now live; I’ve always enjoyed those special moments when the light is just right and the scene beckons me to “take it in and enjoy it”.  My photography is simply my best effort in trying to capture those special fleeting moments of joy.
