My day trip to Rome was a fast and yet very memorable experience. The high-speed train from Naples to Rome took only 1 hour and 10 minutes to travel the 265 KM. It was a very surreal experience to see the Italian country side flash by at 300 KM/H! On arrival in Rome I had 30 minutes to hike across the city to meet up with my photo-guide for a 3 hour walkabout. I had an excellent time with Emanuele Serraino, a professional photographer, born and raised in Rome. He not only guided me to some amazing locations but also helped me to see the art of Street Photography in a brand new light. It was interesting to hear him talk about the importance of inserting characters into my photography as opposed to my usual modus operandi of waiting, and waiting, while hoping to get a clear shot (with no people) in my frame. Emanuele also helped me to glean the best from my camera’s many features, which helped improve my shooting techniques, while also getting sharper and more detailed images.
